The Joy of Music
by Debra Kaufman Greenstein

Music = Joy. Joy = Music.
Music and dancing make me feel ALIVE, they always have. When I listen to a good, uplifting song, a divine force inside me rushes out and insists that I move something, be it a foot, the shoulders, the head or the whole body. To say the least, this homework assignment came very naturally to me.
Physically, my adrenaline peaks, my heart beats strong and every muscle in my body gets a workout. I feel in touch with my body. I feel like I am an energetic, bouncy little girl again. I feel like I will live forever.
Emotionally, I feel 100%. There are no worries, no problems and no pressures. I feel only like loving and sharing the joy. …with my husband, my kids, my friends, and even my neighbors. I want this joy to last forever, or to bottle it for next time when I need it.
Spiritually, I feel at one with G-d. I wouldn’t even call this a religious experience. It’s a visceral uplifting of the soul. I’m in the groove. I’m in my groove… the groove that is custom-made for me. It’s a feeling that everything in the world is perfect.
Wow, I need to dance more often!
